For our last gift-edition Friday Roundup, we’ve worked all the way down to great gifts for the brand new babies in your life (and their mamas, of course). If you’re wanting to know the items that I recommend buying/registering for, you can visit my Minimalist’s Guide to Making a Baby Registry. This gift guide will not consist of breast shields or the best diapers, but rather a few luxurious items that will make baby and mom happy campers this holiday season.
Apparently the Aden and Anais (pronunced “uh-nay”) swaddle blankets we see at Target, Tuesday Morning, and other stores are slightly lesser quality than the swaddle blankets that are available on their website. I’ve been told they’re technically two different brands. We have the blankets that you find from Target (the lesser quality version) and I love them. I cannot attest to how much better the true Aden and Anais blankets are. What I can say is that these blankets are handy, great for swaddling, and so so so cute.
2. Sock Ons
Sock Ons are genius little inventions to keep those adorable little socks on those adorable little baby feet. I want these, especially now that it’s cold out and bare baby feet are a sad sight.
If you must get clothes for that newborn in your life, please please please get zip-up pajamas. Those stupid little snaps make me want to punch myself in the face when it’s 2am and the Nugget is screaming because I am fumbling for 5 minutes to access that poop diaper. That zipper is the answer to night diaper changes.
For the nursing mother, drinking water takes an all time high in priorities. So help mama do it in style with an awesome new water bottle, like this Black + Blum water bottle with charcoal in it to help purify your water.
5. A Bathrobe
That first month of mommyhood is not a time for outfits… or clothes… just saying. A soft bathrobe that mama can throw on for company is a luxury item that she can get some serious mileage out of.
Between the nursing sessions and the late nights of new babies, a subscription to a streaming service can make for a magnificent gift. Yes please.
