Last week I brought you my personal list of favorite toddler girl toys. This week I have surveyed the mamas to bring you a gift guide for one-year-olds. These are the toys that mamas said their little ones played with over and over. Side note: I try to keep the Friday Roundups a good even 5-things. But with all the great suggestions, I just couldn’t get this list quite that short, so bear with me.
It makes noise and these little balls will roll all over your house, but there is no accounting for the hours my child played with this toy. HOURS.
This is one of those grow-with-your-child toys. At first it’s a bright array of colors, then they can learn how to spin the gears, then they can work toward building their own setup. It’s an interactive puzzle of sorts. For those who like few, but multi-tasking toys at home, this one is a winner.
Great for imaginative play, this figurine set comes with lots of fun little characters. Toys like this and the Fisher Price Little People Christmas Story also give interactive opportunities to make the Bible come alive to our children.
I love Melissa & Doug. Their toys are creative, attractive, quiet, and require no batteries. Yes. Here is yet another awesome creation of theirs that helps develop excellent hand-eye coordination as well as color and shape learning.
Reportedly this is one of those love-hate toys. Your child loves it. You hate it. If you watch the video on this one, you’ll know why the emotions from each party are so strong.
Blocks. They’re famous because they’re awesome. These “Let’s Get Dressed” blocks are additionally fun in their added creative element.
This fun set has the imaginative element of other figurine toys with the additional bonus of teaching animals and animal sounds to your child. Cool. Another winner of this sort, also by Fisher-Price, is the Little People Fun Sounds Farm Play Set.
