It’s almost December! You’ve probably got your Christmas shopping halfway handled by now, but have you thought about recognizing Advent this year? “Advent” literally means arrival, and in Christian holidays it refers to the season of waiting (December 1-24) for Christ to come, or rather, to celebrate His coming. We have a little wall-hanging advent calendar that we stick candies in each year as a kind of Christmas countdown, but Little Girl is three now and I’m excited about showing her the true meaning of Christmas. So this year, along with the candies, we’ll be throwing in a little reading. I made this printable advent verse chart and wanted to share it with you.

If doing a paper chain is more your thing, you could cut out the cards and tape one to each chain or just keep the chart as reference.
I also wanted to let you Birmingham friends know about an event coming up! Shades Valley Community Church is hosting a Christmas Spectacular on December 4 6-9pm. There will be live music and local vendors. For adults it’s $5 at the door and kids under 12 get in free. I’ll be there with my quilted goodies and a few Studio Live Edge pieces, so come finish up your Christmas shopping and enjoy sweet music! I would love to see you there!
